The platform uses live registration data and anonymized benchmarks to generate performance reports, analyze past event data, compare similar events, and provide growth advisory with targeted recommendations.

Andre Agassi partnered with IBM to develop an AI-powered tennis analysis platform targeting mid-2026 launch. The platform will ingest video footage of users playing tennis and provide immediate natural language feedback on form and strategy, with AI models built using IBM's Watsonx suite and advised by Agassi and coach Darren Cahill.

Seattle Reign coach Laura Harvey revealed she used ChatGPT to plan game tactics. Harvey asked the AI "What formation should you play to beat NWSL teams?" and received recommendations for every league team, with the AI suggesting a back-five formation for two specific opponents. Harvey won one game 1-0 using the AI's suggested formation.

The NFL deployed Digital Athlete, an AI platform predicting player injuries through data on more than 2,000 players represented by digital avatars. Teams like Minnesota use the system to identify players highlighted in red whose workload or movement patterns signal higher injury risk, allowing trainers to adjust practice schedules before problems occur.

University of Waterloo developed two AI systems improving hockey video analysis without expensive equipment. The PLUCC system boosted puck location accuracy by 12% by inferring position based on player gaze, while SportMamba improved player tracking by up to 18% across multiple sports including hockey, soccer, and basketball.

Fox Sports partnered with Databricks to launch Sports AI, an AI-powered search engine providing real-time scores, news, and statistical analysis. The platform leverages Fox Sports' content library and expert analysis to answer queries conversationally, offering game predictions, player comparisons, and betting insights.

Withings launched U-Scan, a toilet-mounted urine analysis system using AI to provide health insights on hydration, nutrition, calcium trends, and recovery. The $379.95 device uses thermal sensors to detect urine and analyze samples with biochemical sensors, transmitting results to the app for actionable recommendations through Withings+ coaching.

Beyond Sports: AI News Bytes

OpenAI and Amazon signed a $38 billion deal enabling ChatGPT to run on Amazon's data centers using hundreds of thousands of Nvidia AI chips through Amazon Web Services. All capacity is targeted for deployment before the end of 2026, with expansion possible into 2027 and beyond.

Perplexity struck a multi-year licensing deal with Getty Images giving it permission to display images across its AI-powered search tools. The deal marks a shift for the company that has faced plagiarism accusations, though terms were not disclosed since Perplexity doesn't train its own foundational models.

On a related note, Amazon sued Perplexity over its Comet browser's agentic shopping feature, accusing the startup of covertly accessing customer accounts and disguising automated activity as human browsing. The lawsuit highlights emerging debates over regulation of AI agents and their website interactions.

Snapchat owner Snap announced a $400 million deal with Perplexity to integrate conversational AI search into its app beginning early next year. Snap now reaches 943 million monthly active users, up 7% year over year, with Q3 revenue growing 10% to $1.51 billion.

OpenAI's Sora app became available on Android after reaching more than 1 million downloads in less than five days on iOS. The text-to-video AI app has faced legal issues including a copyright lawsuit from Cameo and censure from Japan over anime copycats.

Rivian spun off Mind Robotics, a startup focused on AI-powered robots for industrial settings, raising $115 million in funding led by Eclipse. The EV maker believes there are synergies between autonomous driving development and physical AI for manufacturing operations.
