President Donald Trump, accompanied by CEOs of OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle, announced the creation of Stargate, a joint venture aimed at expanding artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States with an initial investment of $100 billion and plans to invest up to $500 billion.

Perplexity AI has submitted a bid to merge with TikTok's U.S. operations, aiming to provide an alternative solution amid the ongoing national security concerns surrounding the popular social media app. The potential merger comes as the Trump administration seeks to address data privacy and security issues associated with TikTok's Chinese ownership.

Perplexity on Tuesday also launched an API service called Sonar, allowing enterprises and developers to build the startup’s generative AI search tools into their own applications.

Google has committed to investing over $1 billion in the generative AI startup Anthropic, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to CNBC. This latest funding augments Google's previous investments of $2 billion and its 10% ownership stake in Anthropic, alongside a significant cloud services agreement between the two companies. Anthropic is best known for developing the Claude AI chatbot.

Google's virtual assistant, Gemini, can now handle multiple tasks across various apps in a single prompt, streamlining the user experience.
